Ask Away Friday with Mommy Training Wheels

This is the last Ask Away Friday I’m participating in before taking my hiatus, and I invited my good friend, Sophie, of Mommy Training Wheels to join me! I have known her for many months now, through WordPress, which is pretty awesome considering we live in different countries! She lives with her partner and their darling son in Quebec, Canada. :)mommy training

For Ask Away Friday, we asked each other ten questions and we will be “answering” them in photos. I’m excited to see her photos/answers to my questions this afternoon!

What is your favourite activity to do with each of your children?

I have been watching movies pretty regularly at night with our daughter, Maggie, for a little over a year now. It is a lot of fun and something just her and I share together. I also love shopping with her and going out for coffee (or a “frapp”). She’s growing up to be a lovely young woman. ♥
Joshua and I have the most fun together when we’re being active! Going on bike rides, playing football, and kicking the soccer around are just a few of the physical thing we like doing.
Samuel is a master cuddler! ;) In the evening, after dinner, we spend a nice portion of time getting cozy on the couch. Often, we watch travel videos or a family movie while being covered in blankets and pillows.
I love these three sweethearts!
Joshua has been sick this week, so there isn't a recent pic of us playing outside together, but here I am with Maggie (we watched The Nativity Story a few nights ago) and Samuel (after dinner last night).

Picture your favourite dessert!  Now, show us a picture of it!  Please!
Well, I love many desserts, but since we just had one of my faves for Thanksgiving, I'll show you a pic of it here. ;)

What book are you reading right now (or have you read recently)?
I am really enjoying The Spirit-Filled Life by Charles Stanley. I had checked it out from the library but then stopped reading it after a few chapters, and bought it on Amazon so I could take notes, underline, and otherwise make lots of important scribbles in it!

What is your fondest childhood memory (recreate it if you feel like it and can!)

So many of my wonderful childhood memories are with my grandparents. This picture is of Maggie, when she was almost 4 years and we had driven to Michigan to visit them.

What is your all-time favourite store?
Hobby Lobby - oh my goodess! First of all, the smell *inhales deeply* is so...crafty! And then all the fun stuff to buy and/or make! Love, love, love! (Not my photo)

What is the most beautiful spot in your city?

I’m going to “cheat” with this one and give you the link to my first Ask Away Friday post. I took many photos of our town for Jhanis’ questions, and there’s no way I could top them! ;) Check it out here.

Do you have any games at home?  Which one(s) is/are your favourite(s)?
We have LOTS of games!! A whole cabinet, in fact! My favorite team game is Pictionary and my favorite family game has to be Monopoly. I've been playing it since I was about 8 years old, and it never loses its appeal! Ooh, I also love Scrabble - can't forget to mention that one

Can you show us one of your hobbies?
My husband bought me a sewing machine last year and I L.O.V.E. it!! I am still learning, but it's not as hard as I once thought it was. Here are photos of a diaper holder I made last month. You can click the image to see the post. :)

What constitutes your “comfy outfit”?  (Come on, we all have one!)
I have the basic sweats outfit, or a cozy sweater…see the above collage with the kids. ;)
(Assuming here that you attend Church) Can we see what the church you attend looks like?
We actually don’t attend church. It isn’t that we wouldn’t like to, but the Lord hasn’t led us to one here, and it’s only beneficial to go where you’re led!! In the meantime, we worship together (where two or more are gathered! :) ) and talk about Him and what He’s doing in our lives daily. We treat every day as Sunday. ♥ We also enjoy watching Charles Stanley’s sermons on television. He is the pastor at First Baptist Church of Atlanta. :)

Thanks again for joining me, Sophie, and asking such great questions!

    • Being led to a church is no different than being led in anything else. When the Holy Spirit gives peace (or, alternately, no peace) about something, I just KNOW. :)
I definitely know I want to continue doing Ask Away Friday when I come back to blogging. It’s always fun to plan photos to go with questions.

  2. I like sewing too! My great grandma, my grandma and my mom are great seamstresses. Unfortunately for me, the talent seems to be missing. I still sew but the outcome isn’t always what I hope for :)
Glad that you joined AAF this week (i skipped again) but sad that this may be your last :(

Please join in the conversation! I'd love to hear your thoughts.
